SANTA CLARA -- Mykel Williams He recently held his inaugural press conference with the 49ers. During this event, he discussed his development as a pass rusher, his eagerness to learn from Nick Bosa, and his exchanges with Robert Saleh.

Where would you like to develop your skills as a pass rusher?

WILLIAMS: "In my pass-rush strategy, I employ the swipe technique, use the long-arm move, and apply the power approach. However, to improve as a player, I must become more decisive about which action to take during my pass rush."

What would you like to learn from Nick Bosa?

WILLIAMS: "I am eager to absorb all knowledge from him. I wish to understand his rushing techniques—how he executes them. I seek insight into his motivations for performing certain actions. Understanding his thought process is also crucial. The desire to inquire about his experiences and decisions burns within me. Attempting to glean valuable lessons from him is my aim."

Have you had many conversations with Saleh?

WILLIAMS: "I recently had a brief conversation with him. Everything has been excellent so far. During my visit, he shared his plans with me and I really like what he proposed. Our views align regarding how I will fit into the system. It went very well."

What exactly is that plan?

WILLIAMS: "We need to dive deeper into the details, observe some games, and spend time on the field adjusting positions before I share more information with you."

A: Are you proud of your performance in all three downs?

WILLIAMS: "Absolutely, I'm proud of that. My aim is to be out there for every play. If you manage to pull that off, things will work in your favor eventually. Thus, my goal is to stay on the field for as long as possible."
