Man Charged with Two Fatal Shootings in April's Deadly Spree, Dallas Police Announce

A 30-year-old male suspect was taken into custody on Friday in connection with two distinct murders that occurred earlier this month, according to statements from the Dallas Police Department.

Garrett Hudgens is charged with murder due to two shootings that occurred on April 4 and April 23, as stated by the police. Jail records indicate he was admitted to the Dallas County jail shortly before 8:40 p.m. It remains unknown whether he has legal representation at this time.

The news announcements did not elucidate the reasons behind or the situations preceding these shootings, resulting in two fatalities.

On April 4, according to the Dallas police, officers were dispatched to a location on North Cockrell Hill Road in the 1200 block around 6:30 a.m. following a request for assistance. There, they discovered 51-year-old Jimmie Walker had been shot and subsequently passed away at the site.

Nearly three weeks later, officers responded to a shooting call in the 3700 block of Parry Avenue, near the Fair Park grounds, at about 4:25 a.m. on April 23. Dallas police said 71-year-old Percy Howard died at the scene after being shot.
