New Foundation Boosts Fort Roberdeau's Exhibits and Secures Donor Support

Fort Roberdeau currently boasts an official foundation aimed at assisting with financial support, called the Fort Roberdeau Foundation.

Now officially designated as a 501-C3 organization, the fort can apply for grants and will find it simpler to gain backing from individual contributors.

As an immediate consequence, they managed to obtain scholarships that enabled college interns to assist in staffing the fort.

Authorities indicate that this timing could not be more opportune, as the site of the Revolutionary War is currently gearing up to mark the nation’s 250th anniversary.

"We aim to enhance our exhibitions. We plan to showcase the location of the original mine and similar aspects that were previously unattainable due to lack of funding," states site director Glenn Nelson.

The fort authorities mentioned that amongst their upcoming objectives prior to the anniversary is to have a partially constructed concrete bastion put in place along with updating the interior displays of the cabin exhibitions.
