2025 Morris/Sussex Girls Tennis Team Preview Capsules

Boonton
Boonton's tennis team is led by Coach Kathie Foley, who is in her eighth season. Last year, the team struggled with a record of 0-10. However, this season, they have a mix of returnees and newcomers. Senior Ivanna Robello and junior Kaydence Larsen will bring experience, while seniors Mikki Sakamoto and junior Emma Kalish, along with freshman Juliana Banta, add new talent. The small and inexperienced squad hopes to compete more effectively this season.
Chatham
Chatham’s coach, Michael Manna, is in his second season. The team had an impressive 2024 season with a record of 17-4, winning the NJAC-American title and securing their 11th Morris County Tournament championship. Returning players include senior Eden Heitlinger and Michelle Moran, along with juniors Mary Zhang and sophomores Joyce Zhang, Kelly Nie, and Aileen McEnroe. Newcomers like sophomore Leyla Morelli and freshmen Kayra Agar and Tavishi Yadav are expected to strengthen the lineup. Agar and Joyce Zhang will be key players for the deep and talented Cougars.
Hanover Park
Hanover Park is coached by Tara Geisser, entering her 11th season. The team finished the previous year with a strong record of 14-1, winning the NJAC-Liberty title and the North 2, Group 1 championship. Returnees include seniors Audrey Lee and Tanvi Daita, and sophomore Caroline Oriala. With this experienced group, Hanover Park aims to defend its NJAC-Liberty and sectional titles.
High Point
Coach Jesse Strehl is in his fourth season with the High Point team. Last year, the Wildcats had a record of 3-9. Returning players include seniors Maria Kozlowski and Emma Cooper, along with sophomores Rachael McKenna and Mackenzie Zollinger. Newcomers such as seniors Juste Survila and Brooke Wagner, and freshmen Lily Glanville and Samantha Dickey, are expected to contribute. The team hopes to improve daily and become more competitive in matches.
Hopatcong
Hopatcong is under the leadership of Coach Heather DelBagno, who is in her first season. The team had a difficult year with a 0-9 record last season. Returning players include juniors Lily Carey and Kaylyn Jacocks. Newcomers like Natalia Gerena-Roman, Zsuzsanna Koller, and Carolina Tisnados join the team. DelBagno, a longtime assistant, inherits a small team that is still learning the game.
Kinnelon
Kinnelon is coached by Mark Landzert, in his seventh season. The team had a tough year with a 2-11 record. Returning players include seniors Olivia Lee and Manali Patel, along with juniors Carolina Orozco and Luna Perez. Newcomers such as seniors Lauren Dumaresq and Peyton Triano, and sophomores Carly Draudt and Sabrina Lopez, are expected to help the team rebuild.
Kittatinny
Kittatinny is led by Coach Al Paolucci, who is in his 25th season. The team had a record of 7-3 last year. Returning players include seniors Noelle Hrynoweski, Bridget Schetting, and Carly Wikander. Newcomers such as sophomores Aerwin Willeford, Ciara Hurley, and Lily Jacito, and freshman Amelia Miller, are expected to contribute. The young Cougars hope to compete in the NJAC-Freedom.
Lenape Valley
Lenape Valley is coached by Cameron Hosler, in his first season. The team had a record of 8-4 last year. Returning players include seniors Gianna Barron and Bailey Van Dyke, and sophomore Kylie Gallagher. Newcomers such as seniors Teyha Pallotta and Charlotte Molloy, and freshmen Courtney Krassner, Maci Scheller, and Kate Fritzky, are expected to help. While the team has veterans in its singles spots, it graduated many starters from the previous year.
Madison
Madison is coached by Anton Carrera, in his fourth season. The team had a record of 9-15 last year. Returning players include seniors Caroline Bibbee, Alexis Maroukian, and Mackenzie Dickson, along with juniors Sadie Tricario and Kate Scarpa. Newcomers such as sophomores Olivia Khan, Hayley Pomerantz, and Martyna Ostrowski, and freshmen Effie Lekas, Nola Schmid, and Sofia Vilas, are expected to contribute. The veteran team continues to develop.
Mendham
Mendham is coached by Jonathan Cataldi, in his second season. The team had a record of 12-5 last year. Returning players include seniors Ariana Begliominni, Maya Gieszczynski, Maya Vinu, and Sofia Ciccarone, along with junior Gretchen Tresselt. Newcomers such as juniors Lilli Hurley and Logan Hanson, and freshmen Dakota Hanson and Cece Viola, are expected to help the team build on its previous success.
Montville
Montville is coached by Rick Mosera, in his third season. The team had a record of 8-12 last year. Returning players include seniors Hannah Friedman, Abby Broder, Sam Katz, and Anya Sinha. Newcomer Fr. Nora Shi joins the team. The deep and experienced Mustangs aim to advance to a sectional semifinal.
Morris Hills
Morris Hills is coached by Meaghan Barger, in her 12th season. The team had a record of 6-11 last year. Returning players include seniors Sanjana Veggalam, Anvesha Bhagat, Mahi Kamdar, Tarini Daita, and Diya Borundiya. The team hopes to compete in the NJAC-American after graduating three four-year letter-winners.
Morris Knolls
Morris Knolls is coached by Eric Mindrebo, in his fourth season. The team had a record of 3-14 last year. Returning players include seniors Kendyl Croft and Anaya Shah, and junior Wendy Graziani. Newcomers such as seniors Diya Patel and Victoria Leyzerov, and sophomores Aditi Madhiwalla and Sophia Bolislavsky, are expected to help the team improve as the season progresses.
Morristown
Morristown is coached by Lance Lieberman, in his sixth season. The team had a record of 11-6 last year. Newcomers include seniors Violet Barron, Ava Ellefson, Jilliane De Peralta, Sophia Kanowitz, Reese Strelec, Leah Gardberg, and juniors Sara Schiano-Lomoriello, along with sophomores Janelle De Peralta and Callie Danysh. The team has high expectations but no returning starters.
Morristown Beard
Morristown Beard is coached by Dragana Trivic, in her second season. The team had a record of 9-7 last year, finishing with an 8-2 record in the NJAC-Liberty. Returning players include seniors Lily Horowitz, Gigi Graziano, and Caitlin Price, and sophomores Olivia Minoia and Sydney Kaplan. Newcomers such as freshmen Sophia Skolnick and Brielle Maroukian are expected to contribute. The Crimson hope to build on last fall's success.
Mount Olive
Mount Olive is coached by Mike Radzieski, in his seventh season. The team had a record of 9-8 last year. Returning players include seniors Pritisha Panda and Sobia Yasser, and junior Catherine Hu. Newcomers such as junior Bhavana Chadalavada and freshman Aanya Chhetri are expected to contribute. The team expects a solid lineup despite graduating four players.
Mountain Lakes
Mountain Lakes is coached by Ryan Price, in his fourth season. The team had a record of 3-10 last year. Returning players include seniors Mira Sun, Connie Wang, Christabella Leung, Lucy Edwards, Jiya Ramani, and junior Katherine Yakovets. Newcomers such as sophomore Jessie Liu and freshman Ruyi Zheng are expected to help the team bounce back. The team is focusing on being more aggressive.
Newton
Newton is coached by Michael Muller. The team had a record of 7-5 last year. Returning players include senior Sinead Kerrick. Newcomers such as seniors Samantha DuCharme, Savannah Healy, Hannan Neal, and junior Brianna Murray are expected to help the team rebuild. The Braves expect to remain competitive.
Parsippany
Parsippany is coached by Michael Miller, in his 11th season. The team had a record of 2-11 last year. Returning players include seniors Shrujana Praveen, Trinity Johnson, Shreya Patel, Angelica Johnson, Evelyn Chung, and Avelyn Xiang. The team expects to improve this season.
Parsippany Hills
Parsippany Hills is coached by Dave Bongiovanni, in his 31st season. The team had a record of 18-1 last year, winning the NJAC-National title. Returning players include seniors Raksha Krishnan and Sindhu Vontikommu, and juniors Laura Mosiello and Sahana Singh. The team is moving to the NJAC-American, with Singh leading the way as the MCT second-singles champion.
Pequannock
Pequannock is coached by Brandon Horetsky, in his sixth season. The team had a record of 10-7 last year. Returning players include seniors Maria Iorio, Andrea Cristea, and Sabrina Cristea. Newcomers such as seniors Mia Tammaro, Gabby Rodriguez, Alessandra Rainey, Laney Scillia, Daniela Gomez-Rengifo, Alexsiya Ghnim, and juniors Katey Kempenski, Cameron Carbone, and Mina Duric are expected to help the team compete in the NJAC-Independence.
Pope John
Pope John is coached by Pattie McGinley, in her third season. The team had a record of 1-11 last year. Returning players include seniors Julia Tarkowska, Yana Saluja, Emily Fuchs, Mia Rizzo, and junior Ava Duda. Newcomers such as sophomores Stella Fristensky, Isabella Hrebeck, Jennifer Hurley, and freshman Grace Skalupa are expected to help the team bounce back.
Randolph
Randolph is coached by Dan DiNozzi, in his third season. The team had a record of 12-6 last year, finishing with a 9-3 record in the NJAC-National. Returning players include seniors Sophie Visser and Ava Pinho. Newcomer junior Katie Soo Hoo joins the team. Led by Visser and Pinho, the team is aiming for the NJAC-National title.
Roxbury
Roxbury is coached by Rob Doyle, in his fourth season. The team had a record of 8-10 last year. Returning players include seniors Salome Osuna Mesa, Cara McIntee, Angelina Austin, Keerthika Senthival, Ilana Cuskie, and Stella Santarpia. Newcomer sophomore Kass Biehl joins the team. The veteran Roxbury team plans to improve.
Sparta
Sparta is coached by Lydia Myhren, in her second season. The team had a record of 5-11 last year. Returning players include seniors Maureen Gaines, Emilie Fagan, Molly Tomko, and juniors Sara Schwarz, Emily Dondero, Sunny Young, and sophomores Olivia Furtado and Juliet Shim. Newcomer freshman Layla Boohoff joins the team. The team is deep and skilled, ready for its move to the NJAC-National.
Sussex Tech
Sussex Tech is coached by Chad Gasiorek, in his 15th season. The team had a record of 7-5 last year, finishing with a 3-1 record in the NJAC-Colonial. Returning players include seniors Bridget Esposito, Paige Fetterman, Lyah Quinones, and juniors Addison Realista and Leah Psaroudis. Newcomers such as seniors Kylee Hardin, and juniors Lainey White and Brook Jennings are expected to contribute. The Mustangs are optimistic.
Vernon
Vernon is coached by Ray Loughren, in his fifth season. The team had a record of 6-9 last year. Returning players include seniors Juliette Miller, Samantha Werner, Karolina Czerhoniak, and juniors Brooke Giessuebel, Sierra Wanger, and sophomore Karina Czerhoniak. Newcomers such as freshmen McKenzie Gass and Hannah Burrafato are expected to help the team improve.
Villa Walsh
Villa Walsh is coached by Becky Campbell, in her second season. The team had a record of 5-10 last year. Returning players include seniors Angelina Santorelli, Cameron Shull, Giselle Scannella, and Olivia Parrillo. Newcomers such as junior Ella Trzesniowski, sophomore Whitney Witko, and freshman Elodie Tuck are expected to contribute. The team relies on veteran singles players.
Wallkill Valley
Wallkill Valley is coached by Earl Hornyak, in his fifth season. The team had a record of 2-10 last year. Returning players include seniors Fiona Gordon, Audrey Newsome, Zoey Vanderbeck, and Grace Carr. Newcomers such as juniors Nicole Wasniowska, Sydney Bartolo, Ava Roopchang, Ava Floris, Gia Floris, and sophomores Jenna Altieri and Izzie Lombardi, along with freshman Maya Mionowski, are expected to contribute. More than 30 girls are trying out for the team, giving Wallkill Valley newfound depth.
West Morris
West Morris is coached by Erik Jacobsen, in his 11th season. The team had a record of 11-4 last year, finishing with a 9-3 record in the NJAC-National. Returning players include juniors Aarah Patel, Julia Dybas, Rose Mestrandrea, Emma Stephen, and sophomore Megan Park. Newcomers such as senior Charlotte Wu, junior Lily Krauer, and sophomore Darcy Sorensen are expected to help the team build on a strong 2024 season.
Whippany Park
Whippany Park is coached by Matthew Samson, in his first season. The team had a record of 10-4 last year, sharing the NJAC-Independence title. Returning players include seniors Audrey Rha, Amanda Wickenheisser, Audrey Kuo, Audrey Lee, Anna Koch, and sophomores Caitlin Eng and Aashi Shah. Newcomers such as freshmen Avery Kuo and Emily Lin are expected to contribute. Longtime JV coach Samson inherits an experienced team from Rachel Romano, the coach for two decades.
