Opportunities for Professional Staff at CCRES

CCRES is currently seeking professional staff to work in various settings, including schools, homes, and the community. These roles are designed to support children and adults facing challenges related to autism, mental illness, intellectual and developmental disabilities, and physical disabilities. Since 1999, CCRES has partnered with the Chester County Intermediate Unit to address the growing need for behavioral health services in Chester County. Based in Downingtown, the organization collaborates with school districts, intermediate units, and the broader behavioral health system to provide essential support.

There are several positions available for those interested in making a meaningful impact in the lives of individuals with special needs. Below are some of the key roles currently open.

Personal Care Assistant (PCA)

As a Personal Care Assistant (PCA), you will have the opportunity to make a daily difference by providing one-on-one assistance to children and adolescents with emotional and behavioral disorders. This field employee position involves working during the school calendar year, with shifts starting at 7:30 AM to 2:30 PM (secondary) or 8:30 AM to 3:30 PM (elementary). Assignments are available throughout Chester County’s school districts as well as in the Chester County Intermediate Unit Child and Career Development Center or CCIU’s Learning Center.

The starting rate for this role is $22 per hour, which can increase to $25.50 per hour over time. PCAs specialize in supporting children primarily diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorders, as well as other special needs diagnoses. Responsibilities include:

  • Providing one-to-one and small-group emotional support and behavioral interventions
  • Prompting interventions in behavior management, conflict resolution, anger management, and peer interaction skills
  • Collecting daily data and documenting progress notes
  • Supporting students with personal care needs

To qualify for this position, candidates must have a High School Diploma or equivalency. While experience working with school-aged children is preferred, experience with autism and other special needs is also beneficial. For those assigned to the West Chester Area School District, additional requirements include a high school diploma and the ability to complete a local assessment requirement or two years of post-secondary education (48 college credits).

Credentialing requirements include:

  • PA Child Abuse (Act 151) Clearance
  • PA Criminal (Act 34) Clearance
  • PA Department of Education FBI – Use code 1KG6XN
  • TB Screening
  • Education Documentation – Diploma or Official Transcripts

Behavior Consultant

The Behavior Consultant (BC-ABA) is an independent contract position that involves working as part of an interdisciplinary clinical team in Montgomery County. The role offers flexible scheduling, with opportunities to work during school hours, after school, or in the evenings based on program needs.

The hourly rate for this position is $60. Responsibilities include:

  • Writing and monitoring individual treatment plans for children with behavioral and mental health disorders
  • Assisting in developing adaptive skills for children to engage more positively in school, home, and community settings
  • Providing prescribed behavioral consultation to families and schools
  • Training Behavior Health Technicians (BHTs) on appropriate therapeutic interventions
  • Writing Functional Behavioral Assessments (FBAs)

Qualifications for this role include:

  • A Master’s Degree in applied behavior analysis (ABA) or a related field
  • PA License in one of the following: Psychologist, Professional Counselor, Marriage and Family Therapist, Clinical Social Worker, Social Worker, Behavior Specialist, or Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner
  • At least 12 credits in ABA from a college/university and one year of full-time experience providing ABA or one year of full-time experience under the supervision of a BCBA
  • 40 hours of training in ABA
  • PA Child Abuse (Act 151) Clearance
  • PA Criminal (Act 34) Clearance
  • FBI Department of Human Service background clearance – Service code: 1KG738
  • TB screening within three months
  • Professional Liability Insurance

Behavior Analyst

The Behavior Analyst /BCBA is another independent contract position, working as part of an interdisciplinary clinical team in Chester County. This role offers flexibility in scheduling, allowing for work during school, after school, or evening hours.

The hourly rate for this position is $85. Key responsibilities include:

  • Writing and monitoring individual treatment plans for children with behavioral and mental health disorders
  • Assisting in developing adaptive skills for children to take a more positive role in school, home, and community settings
  • Providing prescribed behavioral consultation to families and schools
  • Training Behavior Health Technicians (BHTs) on appropriate therapeutic interventions
  • Writing Functional Behavioral Assessments (FBAs)

To qualify for this role, candidates must have:

  • A PA Behavior Specialist License
  • BCBA (active)
  • PA Behavior Specialist License (active)
  • PA Child Abuse (Act 151) Clearance
  • PA Criminal (Act 34) Clearance
  • FBI Department of Human Service background clearance
  • TB screening within three months
  • Professional Liability Insurance
