The couple first sparked romance rumors in 2015 when they were seen traveling together. They kept their relationship out of the public eye for several years, but they eventually made their red carpet debut at the 2019 Screen Actors Guild Awards. Later that year, Chadwick won an award at the NAACP Image Awards and specifically thanked Simone in his speech, saying, “Simone, you're with me every day. I have to acknowledge you right now. Love you.” She responded by mouthing back, “I love you.”

She goes by the stage name sahn and graduated from Cal Polytechnic University Pomona, where she studied music industry studies and was the lead singer of the school's jazz band. In 2023, she released her debut album, The Mornings, which includes a song titled "chad's prayer." She described the album as "a letter to my beloved" and drew inspiration from her late husband for the record.

"Sometimes they’re much more subtle, but it’s that process of figuring out how you now embrace this new relationship that you have with this person — one that’s now only a spiritual relationship and how you now communicate with them and [vice versa]."

Honoring a Legacy

After Chadwick’s passing, Simone has continued to honor his legacy and advocate for colon cancer awareness. In 2023, she worked alongside industry leaders in partnership with former President Joe Biden's Cancer Moonshot initiative at the Colorectal Cancer Forum at the White House. In March 2024, she spoke at the Fight Colorectal Cancer "United in Blue" flag installation on the National Mall in Washington, D.C., and later addressed the issue at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute.

“Colorectal cancer is killing young people across the country, and most are vastly underestimating their risk,” she said. “I’ve seen how this disease moves, and I know now how treatable it is when it’s detected early.”

A Public Tribute

On November 20, 2025, Simone accepted Chadwick’s posthumous star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. The ceremony was attended by his friends and colleagues, including Ryan Coogler, Viola Davis, Michael B. Jordan, and Letitia Wright. The star will be located at 6904 Hollywood Blvd. in Los Angeles.
