Arrest Made in Groton Murder Case: Justice Served

Groton, Conn./WTIC Radio - A probe into human remains discovered close to a cemetery in the city of Groton last month has been reclassified as a murder investigation.

The probe similarly led the police to a house on Allen Street earlier last week.

The police chief of Groton City, David Burton, stated that the victim is Suzanne Wormser, aged 58, from Groton.

The individual in question has been recognized as Donald Coffel, aged 68, from Groton.

The remains were discovered close to Colonel Ledyard Cemetery on March 19.

Burton mentioned that they were dating.

The chief additionally mentioned that the case had no connection whatsoever with the rumors spreading across New England regarding a supposed serial killer.

Multiple other people will be interviewed, according to Burton.

Coffel is currently set at a bond of $1 million and has a court appearance scheduled for Monday.
