Days of Our Lives Update: Fundraiser Launches, EJ Awakens, and Adoption Approved

Kate prodded Rex regarding his mention to Roman that she had shot EJ. Concerned due to her protective nature, Rex admitted he had voiced this concern. He further mentioned having suspected Roman as the possible shooter too, however, Kate quickly ruled out that notion.

Roman inquired with Kayla regarding EJ’s wellbeing. Upon noticing her suspicion, Roman clarified that his concern stemmed from worrying about his grandchildren. However, due to HIPAA regulations, Kayla declined to provide an update for him.

Philip admitted to Belle that Victor’s letter was fabricated. Despite being disturbed by this revelation, Belle acknowledged that she had seen more questionable behavior from EJ. Sarah expressed regret to Xander but hesitated to disclose her role in concealing Philip’s secret when Alex and Stephanie entered the room. Xander questioned whether they were aware of the situation. Stephanie revealed that she found out the truth and ended things with Philip due to his actions. Privately, Alex cautioned Sarah against sharing details about her contribution to keeping Philip’s secret hidden.

Wei Shin informed Xander that admitting Philip wasn’t a genuine heir might threaten their hold over the DiMera family. Despite feeling remorseful about her deceptions, Sarah decided to push those feelings aside and attended the fundraising event alongside Xander. Seeing Philip at the festival caused Xander considerable distress. He initially urged JJ to charge Philip with fraud, yet later withdrew this request due to Wei Shin’s cautionary advice. Making light of extreme measures, Xander made a joke about eliminating his sibling; however, upon seeing Sarah strike his arm reproachfully, he reassured JJ that his comment had been nothing more than jest.

Xander noticed Sarah conversing with Philip. She emphasized to him that they ought to maintain civility for the benefit of their family. Maggie urged Xander to consider forgiving Philip since she believed Victor would want them to collaborate. However, Xander rejected this idea. Later, Gabi requested Brady's assistance in reclaiming control over Gabi Chic from both Xander and Philip; however, Brady turned down her request due to his previous experiences with them.

Sitting beside EJ, Susan extended her hand towards him as though trying to connect with him mentally. Meanwhile, Kayla initiated the procedure to bring EJ back from his medically-induced coma. Upon waking, EJ reacted positively when he heard Belle speak. Once conscious, Susan informed EJ that he was shot. She also shared with him that Belle confessed her love for him. Despite this revelation, Belle remained silent regarding her emotions. As EJ pressed further, Chad stepped in, causing Belle to flee.

When Susan encountered Gabi in the square, she experienced a psychic vision suggesting Gabi was present at the DiMera mansion during the time of the shooting incident. Concerned about this revelation, Susan shared her insights with EJ. Gabi expressed worry that Susan might have witnessed "what she did" that night.

Chad apologized to his brother regarding the article, however, EJ mentioned that he didn’t hold Chad responsible. Despite this, EJ found it hard to recall the events from the night of the shooting; all he could bring back were snippets of talks he had with Belle, Chanel, and Kristen.

Johnny expressed gratitude to Chad for persuading him to go see EJ at the hospital. He then shared with Chad his discussion with Sami, which allowed him to gain deeper insight into her perspective. Despite having pardoned his mother, Johnny admitted that he still harbored intense resentment towards his father. Chad discovered that EJ was conscious. Although this information came as a surprise to Johnny, he stated that he didn’t find any reason to converse with EJ.

Amy informed Chanel that she had made up her mind to allow her and Johnny to adopt Sophia’s baby. As Sophia and Tate went through their breathing exercises, they could feel the baby move. At the moment of signing the adoption documents, Tate and Sophia exchanged glances before putting pen to paper. Upon his return home, Johnny was delightedly updated with this information by Chanel.

JJ revealed to Chad that his connection with Gabi was strained since he had confronted her regarding EJ’s shooting incident. Cat urged JJ to remain hopeful that Gabi might forgive him, similar to how Chad forgave her in the past. Feeling disheartened, Gabi shared JJ’s suspicions with Javi and Leo. They suggested that Gabi participate in the bachelor auction and try bidding on someone else to evoke jealousy from JJ. Maggie placed an astounding bid of one million dollars for a dinner date with Chad.

The hospital fundraising event began. As Chad observed, Cat decorated the faces of his kids. Thomas persuaded Chad to let Cat paint his own face too. Both Chad and Cat rejoiced over their contributions to the fundraiser. During the bachelor auction, there was intense competition for Alex, until Gabi put an end to it with a significant bid once she noticed JJ arrive.

Kristen went to see EJ with questions for him regarding Rachel Blake. He insisted he was unaware of any information related to her situation. Despite Kristen urging EJ to assist her in regaining control over their company, he refused. EJ shared that he aimed to transform himself into a more virtuous individual. During their conversation, EJ mentioned Susan’s prophecy concerning Gabi. Upon hearing EJ say he would forgive Kristen even if she were responsible for shooting someone, she expressed skepticism towards his supposed transformation.

When JJ sought Kayla’s approval to interrogate EJ, he arrived at the hospital only to hear Kristen intimidating EJ. EJ stated that he couldn’t recall who had shot him. Later, Kayla informed EJ that Sami and Johnny had come to see him during his unconscious state.

​

The ballistics report indicated that the bullet used in the shooting corresponded to the same caliber as Melinda’s firearm; however, they couldn’t conclusively link it to her weapon specifically. Ava emerged as the primary suspect. While Shawn interrogated EJ, he accidentally heard Belle expressing her emotions. Deciding to move forward together romantically, both EJ and Belle chose to pursue their relationship further. Recalling an earlier incident, EJ mentioned finding a concealed recorder under his desk which led him to remove the storage chip from within it. Upon discovering that his recording equipment placed inside the DiMera estate had been tampered with, Rafe felt disheartened.

Jada concluded her romance with Rafe. To ensure a clear separation, Rafe opted to accept a position with the FBI in another city. During a dinner together, Shawn informed Jada about Belle's affections towards EJ. Hope contacted Shawn to relay some troubling information regarding Bo.
