Granite City Man Faces Kidnapping Charges After Chase and Home Invasion

In Granite City, Illinois, authorities were notified about potential kidnappings and a home invasion occurring in the 2100 block of Edison Avenue on April 24.

According to the Granite City Police Department, they found the suspected individual, now recognized as Donte T. Pryor, operating a vehicle containing an adult female and two juveniles.

Authorities stated that they tried to intercept the suspect’s car during a traffic stop, however, Pryor kept driving, leading to a chase by the police.

The attempt concluded with Pryor crashing the car in St. Charles County, Missouri, where the three victims were inside the vehicle.

The grown woman along with Pryor was transported to the hospital for injuries not deemed life-threatening, stated the Granite City Police Department. However, the condition of the two juveniles implicated in the event has yet to be verified by FOX 2.

According to authorities, Pryor was detained and taken into custody.

The office of the Madison County Illinois State’s Attorney has accused him of committing the following offenses:

Count I: Aggravated Kidnapping (Felony of Class X)

Count II: Aggravated Kidnapping of a Child Under 13 Years Old (Class X Felony)

Charge Three: Severe Kidnapping of a Child Under 13 Years Old (Class X Felony)

Chapter 4: Break-in at Residence (Serious Class X Offense)

Count V: Illegal Confinement (Class 4 Felony)

Chapter Six & Seven: Aggravated Evasion of Law Enforcement (Felony Class 4)
