"Part of the house had to be reinforced structurally so it wouldn’t collapse on us," said David Rader, Midwest Director of Texas EquuSearch.
Rader mentioned that the firefighters arrived at the house equipped for stabilization, allowing them to proceed with their recovery efforts. They started excavating around the front porch area of the residence in an attempt to find any potential human remains.
"I mean, as we went deeper down there, the farther we progressed, the more we discovered beyond just human remains; there were numerous animal bones that were identified," he explained.
On News Center 7 at 5:00 PM Once they had identified all the human remains in the porch area, Rader mentioned that they started broadening their search efforts.
"We did venture into the crawlspace of the house, where we found several additional bones," Rader stated.
After completing the crawl space excavation, they inspected the entire vicinity, searching for any soil that appeared to have been previously excavated or disrupted.
They proceeded to take an additional step.
We opted to bring in the dogs, allowing them to patrol the region and go over what we had already examined," he clarified. "The dogs did not uncover anything additional.
The remains found by Texas EquuSearch were transported to the Montgomery County Coroner’s Office and Crime Lab for further verification and possible examination.
