Jupiter Seeks New Voices: Apply Now for Town Council District 1 Vacancy!

The town of Jupiter is inviting citizens who have a zeal for community service to submit their applications for an open position on the Town Council.

The application period for the vacant District 1 position remains open until midday on May 12.

The Town Council mentioned they intend to evaluate applicants and possibly fill the position at their scheduled meeting on May 20. Should additional deliberations be needed, these could take place on June 3. The person chosen for this role will hold office until the present term concludes in March 2026.

To apply, candidates must be registered voters in Palm Beach County and live within District 1. According to the Town’s Charter, two councilmembers must reside in each of the two districts; however, all members serve the whole town.

Residents who are interested must send in both a cover letter and résumé, which should encompass their present mailing address, work history, engagement within the community, comprehension of local governance, familiarity with the Town Code, and dedication to serving every resident equally. Additionally, they will need to provide evidence of residence like a valid driver’s license or state-issued identification card.

Once residency is verified, applicants must sign an "Oath of Eligibility." If appointed, they must complete Form 1, "Statement of Financial Interests," as required by State law. All submissions are subject to Florida Sunshine laws and public records requests.
