Nebraska Game Company Sues Trump Administration Over Tariffs

A gaming firm based in Nebraska is involved in a legal battle against the United States, the Trump administration, two federal agencies, and President Donald Trump’s tariff policies.

In the lawsuit, Spielcraft Games, LLC stated that in April, the firm paid over $4,300 in duties due to the fact that the board games were brought in from China.

The grievance stated that the tariffs were not in line with the constitution.

Spielcraft is among only 11 small enterprises hailing from various states named as plaintiffs in the lawsuit.

The lawsuit claimed that President Trump's tariffs go beyond the powers authorized by the International Emergency Economic Powers Act.

Stating that the IEEPA doesn’t confer upon the President the authority to levy tariffs and that such action contravenes the U.S. Constitution.

The complaint stated that the tariffs are illegal.

Alex Wolf, the owner of Spielcraft, stated in a release, “By entering this legal battle, I aim to defend both my individual liberty against unjust governmental intrusion as well as the freedoms guaranteed to every American citizen.”

Wolf mentioned that he has faced tens of thousands in tariffs on a board game created by Omahans.

The game, Cretaceous Rails, originates from China.

He mentioned that another batch of the game has encountered a fresh "unexpected tax."

The lawsuit requested the court to rule the tariffs as illegal, order refunds for the plaintiffs, and grant an injunction to stop the defendants from enforcing the tariffs.
