The Oklahoma City Thunder (and the Seattle Supersonics prior to them) have 51 jersey numbers Worn by the athletes who have played for the team from its inception at the beginning of the 1967-68 season. In honor of these players and their chosen numbers, Thunder Wire is presenting the complete story of each jersey number along with the individuals who proudly displayed them throughout the team’s existence.
Even though those Supersonics jerseys might not stay integral to the franchise’s legacy if a new team is formed in Seattle similar to what happened when the Charlotte Hornets came back, they currently form an essential part of the Thunder's history.
In this installment of our series, we focus on jersey number 24, which has been worn by 14 different players throughout the team’s history, making it the 26th entry in our list.
The seventh player among them achieved this during the Seattle SuperSonics period, alumnus big man Marty Conlon. After concluding his college career at Providence, Conlon went undrafted in the 1990 NBA draft. He then played in the CBA and internationally before joining the SuperSonics in 1991.
He remained with the team for just one year, concluding his tenure when he joined the Sacramento Kings in 1992.
While playing for the Sonics, Conlon donned just jersey number 24 and averaged 2.7 points and 1.5 rebounds per game.
