Pima County Deputies Rush to Scene of Motorcycle Crash at Cardinal and Valencia Intersection

TUCSON, Ariz. (13 News) - On Friday, April 25, law enforcement was dispatched to a collision between two vehicles, including a motorcycle, at the intersection of Cardinal and Valencia in Pima County.

The Pima County Sheriff’s Department stated that the westbound lanes of Valencia would remain closed for multiple hours.

The past fourteen days have seen an exceptionally risky period for individuals riding motorcycles and ATVs.

• On April 13, A motorcyclist sustained critical injuries in an accident involving only their vehicle close to Sabino Canyon and River. The PCSD stated that the rider was probably going too fast when they lost control and crashed into a sign.
• On April 14, A 62-year-old man named Rosendo Solis-Ochoa passed away following a collision with an all-terrain vehicle (ATV) near South Creeger Road and East Old Vail Connection Road in Tucson. The Tucson Police Department stated that Solis-Ochoa was operating an ATV alongside others when he lost control and struck multiple mailboxes.
• On April 22, A 25-year-old named Deven Plemons passed away following an ATV accident in the 9000 block of West Calle Cibeque within Pima County. The PCSD stated that Plemons mistakenly drove into a private driveway and collided with a chain placed at the entryway.
• On April 22, After colliding with an electric motorcycle, 51-year-old Travis Bell passed away near Magee and Oracle in Pima County. The PCSD indicated that Bell was probably exceeding the speed limit when he collided with a vehicle exiting a driveway.
• On April 23, A 24-year-old named Bianey Franco died as a result of a two-car accident on Broadway and Arcadia in Tucson. The TPD indicated that Franco was probably exceeding the speed limit when a car pulled out in front of her.
