Police Probe Deadly Shooting in Southeast Albuquerque
Homicide investigators from the police department have taken into custody a mother and her older teenage son as part of their inquiry into a deadly shooting in southeastern Albuquerque.
Police were dispatched to an apartment on Indiana Street SE following a dispute that escalated into gunfire, resulting in one deceased male. The incident occurred approximately at 9 p.m. on Thursday, April 24.

This confrontation arose after they demanded that the group depart, leading to a heated exchange. According to a witness statement provided to law enforcement, Munah Green, aged 44, instructed her son to fire at the person inside the apartment.
The person who was shot has been recognized as 32-year-old Richard Powell.
According to a witness, the teenager, who was 17 years old, brandished a pistol and fired multiple shots at Powell. As a result of this incident, Powell fell after being struck by another round, as reported by the same witness.
The teenager and Green face charges of murder in the first degree along with conspiracy to commit murder.
