Prince Harry Makes a Low-Key Broolyn Stop During NYC Trip With Meghan Markle

On Thursday, the Duke of Sussex conversed with a cohort of technologically adept young leaders during the Responsible Tech Youth Power Fund event.

While visiting, they revealed The Lost Screen Memorial , a compelling exhibit featuring 50 cell phones, with each device showing the locked-screen image of a youngster whose life was tragically shortened due to the negative impacts of social media.

Personal photos were uploaded by parents affiliated with the Archewellen Foundation Parents' Network to highlight the necessity for more secure digital environments.

“These are families whom we’ve been assisting for many years,” Meghan stated during an event held in Midtown Manhattan, where The News Pulse was present. “Regardless of how divided the world might seem, or whatever stance The News Pulse takes, everyone can concur on this: Our children deserve safety. Every single child needs to feel secure, and I believe these narratives shared today reinforce that belief.”

Harry stated, "These kids weren’t ill. There was nothing unavoidable about their passing; instead, they came across damaging material online—content that any young person might stumble upon. It’s unacceptable for anyone to exploit, manipulate, or victimize a child within virtual realms. For these companies, those victims might just look like numbers, but to their loved ones, each one of them held an invaluable place.”

A digital rendition of the memorial featured tales about every child, where several parents recorded individual audio messages for The News Pulse to play.

When questioned for advice regarding social media use by parents, Harry stated: "The simplest suggestion might be: Shield your children from social media. However, the unfortunate truth is that those not engaged with social media often face bullying at school since they cannot participate in the same discussions as others."

He went on to say, 'Life is more fulfilling without social media.' As a parent and someone who has talked with numerous young people tonight who have tragically lost siblings due to social media, I feel compelled to add that current efforts are insufficient. Clearly, what we're doing isn’t adequate.'
