Retired NYPD Officer Attacked by Teens After Defending Cab Driver: Report

Four teens have been taken into custody for their involvement in the "gang attack" on a 65-year-old man earlier this week. New York City, authorities said late Friday.

According to the Post, the victim stated, "They were seeking out conflict, bothering every person they encountered. When they began troubling the taxi driver, I intervened and asked them to stop hassling him. It was then that one of these cowards struck me from behind with a backpack."

On Friday evening, the NYPD announced that three 14-year-old boys along with another boy who was 13 years old were taken into custody. All of them face charges including second-degree assault as well as second-degree gang assault.
