Washburn University Unveils Exciting Summer Camp Options

TOPEKA ( KSNT Summer is just ahead, and children in the neighborhood have the opportunity to explore their passions up close.

Washburn University is organizing summer camps for children across various age groups. Participants have the option to choose among multiple topics related to both academics and athletics. Experts will conduct sessions tailored to match every participant's specific preferences.

Washburn suggests that this method helps maintain children's engagement over the summer break.

By the time the camp ends, participants often express a desire to continue learning and practice playing their instruments," explained Craig Treinen, who directs the jazz camp and serves as an associate professor at Washburn University. "I believe this provides them with an excellent chance to grow during the summertime.

Participants can build cardboard cities with their creations, engage in paper weaving activities," explained Arts Education Coordinator, Stacy Ash. "Previously, they've crafted homemade chalk and Play-Doh. There’s also been plenty of nature-inspired painting both inside and outside.
