Wisconsin Judge's Arrest Sparks Democratic Backlash: "No One Is Above the Law" Echoes Hollowly
A number of Democrats who have maintained that "nobody is exempt from the law" regarding President Donald Trump’s cases are now criticizing the arrest in Wisconsin. Judge Hannah Dugan This warning suggests it might undermine the rule of law.

Attorney General Pam Bondi of Florida was outraged at a judge from Wisconsin who was arrested for obstructing the arrest of an illegal immigrant.
Commenting in 2020 on her vote to remove Trump from office over abuse of power allegations, Smith said she took her constitutional oath seriously and that "to condone corrupt behavior such as this undermines the core value that we stand for as a nation -- that no one is above the law, including and most especially our president."
Smith said she pored over presentations and evidence to reach that conclusion.
Representative Gwen Moore from Wisconsin, representing Dugan’s county, sharply criticized the White House, stating that its “readiness to use federal law enforcement as a tool is astounding,” and she added that this arrest seems to be an example of excessive authority.

Rep. Ro Khanna, D-Calif., reacted to what appears to be a removed tweet from Patel with a post on X stating, “Donald Trump and JD Vance are currently having judges arrested. Erasing the tweet doesn’t change the fact that you’ve pushed us into a constitutional crisis.”
During a 2023 interview with radio personality Hugh Hewitt, Khanna commented on the impeachment of President Trump stating, “One cannot simply declare that being a president or a candidate exempts one from legal accountability. Everybody must adhere to the law, and all accusations require thorough examination for evidence.”
When approached by Fox News Digital for comments, Kharna stated that Trump has "declared war on the judicial system," and although there isn't substantial public evidence about Dugan yet, "the situation is very troubling considering the administration's assaults on the court system."
"Chief Justice Roberts has also criticized Trump’s behavior towards the judiciary," Khanna noted.
Representative Mark Pocan from Wisconsin, who belongs to the Democratic Party, stated that some established standards were being disregarded. immigration and legislative issues for Dugan’s arrest.
