Community Counselor Position

The Community Counselor plays a vital role in delivering in-home individual, family, and group counseling services in the Norristown area. The position emphasizes trauma-informed care and addresses a variety of issues such as parenting challenges, therapy for young children and teens, life skills development, supervised visitation, and intervention for drug and alcohol-related concerns. Counselors also work with individuals who have experienced physical, sexual, or emotional abuse.

Key responsibilities include:

• Providing counseling services in various settings, including homes, offices, and schools.
• Meeting specific requirements for counseling positions and following established policies and procedures.
• Advocating for clients with healthcare professionals, legal personnel, and service agencies.
• Maintaining accurate case records and tracking service statistics.
• Assisting in program planning and departmental tasks.

Special Education Teacher Position

The Special Education Teacher position in Chester offers a $5,000 sign-on bonus. This role involves working with students who have diverse socioemotional and mental health needs, as well as learning disabilities. The teacher develops and delivers specialized instruction tailored to each student's unique requirements, evaluates progress, and functions as an IEP Manager.

Duties include:

• Working with students in grades 7-12 who have a wide range of needs.
• Assessing student skills to develop teaching plans.
• Planning and organizing activities based on individual abilities.
• Teaching and mentoring students in class, small groups, and one-on-one settings.
• Monitoring student progress and adjusting instructional techniques as needed.
• Establishing and maintaining classroom control and discipline.

Ideal candidates should possess excellent communication and relationship-building skills, the ability to work effectively on a multi-treatment team, and knowledge of IEP software. A Bachelor’s Degree and Pennsylvania Special Education Certification (7-12 or N-12) are required.

Math Teacher Position

The Math Teacher supports at-risk youth in grades 7-12 within an alternative school setting. The role requires flexibility in addressing individualized instructional needs and fostering a collaborative environment with educators, special education staff, counselors, and social workers.

Responsibilities include:

• Creating a classroom culture where the teacher acts as a facilitator rather than a lecturer.
• Preparing and implementing lesson plans that promote active learning.

Qualifications include excellent communication and teamwork skills, proficiency in subject matter, and experience with Microsoft programs. A Bachelor’s Degree and Pennsylvania Teaching Certification in the subject taught are required.
