Fantasy Football Flex Rankings - Week 8 Weekend Update

Week 8 Fantasy Football FLEX Rankings for 2025

With the NFL season entering its eighth week, the depth of fantasy rosters is being tested due to injuries and bye weeks. To help you make key start-sit decisions, here are the updated Week 8 fantasy football FLEX rankings for 2025. This list includes notable running backs (RBs), wide receivers (WRs), and tight ends (TEs) such as DK Metcalf, Zach Ertz, Cade Otton, Terry McLaurin, Wan'Dale Robinson, Jerry Jeudy, and Jaylen Warren.

These rankings are compiled by Nick Mariano and include insights from The News Pulse staff, along with a "Who to Start?" tool. Be sure to check back for updates throughout the week as there are always key injuries and developments to keep track of.

Key Fantasy Football Outlooks

DK Metcalf, Pittsburgh Steelers

Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver DK Metcalf had a quiet performance in Thursday night's game against the Cincinnati Bengals, finishing with three receptions for 50 yards on five targets. He started strong with a 39-yard reception on the opening drive but was overshadowed by tight end Pat Freiermuth and running back Jaylen Warren for much of the game. His only other notable moment was an interception in the second quarter when Bengals cornerback DJ Turner II stripped the ball from his hands. However, Metcalf should have a better opportunity in a favorable home matchup against the Green Bay Packers. With quarterback Aaron Rodgers likely motivated to perform against his former team, Metcalf is expected to be a high-end WR2 for fantasy purposes.

Jerry Jeudy, Cleveland Browns

Cleveland Browns wide receiver Jerry Jeudy (knee) has practiced on a limited basis this week after missing Wednesday's practice. He is listed as questionable for the Week 8 road matchup against the New England Patriots. If he plays, Jeudy will aim to break a season-long slump where he hasn't exceeded 51 receiving yards since Week 1. The Patriots have struggled against receivers this season, allowing the 11th-most fantasy points per game to the position. If Jeudy plays, he would be a low-end WR4 in fantasy leagues. If he sits, look for Isaiah Bond, Jamari Thrash, or Malachi Corley to see increased opportunities in the passing game.

Tez Johnson, Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Tampa Bay Buccaneers wide receiver Tez Johnson has been a pleasant surprise for the offense over the last few weeks. Despite the team's lack of wideouts, Johnson has stepped up and delivered. In the previous week's loss to the Detroit Lions, he saw nine targets and caught four for 58 yards and a touchdown. The 23-year-old has scored in back-to-back games, so he'll look to extend that streak against the New Orleans Saints in Week 8. Emeka Egbuka (hamstring) is ready to go, so Johnson should fall into the No. 2 role in the passing game. There should be enough upside here to plug in Johnson as a WR3 for this weekend.
