Honoring Excellence: FOX News Media Celebrates Spotlight Award Winners

FOX News Media recently celebrated its 2024 Spotlight Award winners during an intimate luncheon, recognizing the outstanding contributions of its employees. The event, hosted by anchor Bill Hemmer, brought together executives and staff to honor those who have made a significant impact on the network.

A Tradition of Recognition

The Spotlight Awards are an annual tradition at FOX News Media, with hundreds of nominations submitted by staff members. These awards highlight individuals and teams who have demonstrated exceptional dedication and performance. Last year’s winners were announced at a network-wide town hall, and this year, they gathered in person at Avra in midtown Manhattan, just blocks from the network’s headquarters.

Suzanne Scott, CEO of FOX News Media, emphasized the importance of celebrating success and achievement. “If we’re not celebrating our success, nobody else is going to,” she said. She also highlighted the significance of supporting each other and maintaining the strong culture that defines the organization.

Recognizing Unsung Heroes

The Unsung Hero Award honors employees who consistently go above and beyond, often working behind the scenes to ensure the network runs smoothly. This year’s recipients include:

• Latoya Lewis, Director of Technical Operations, who maintains control rooms during breaking news and manages her department effectively.
• Alex Mitchner, also a Director of Technical Operations, known for mentoring less experienced staff and leading the transition to automation for FBN.
• Jason Oster, Broadcast Engineering Supervisor, who has been with the network since 1999 and is known for his quick problem-solving skills.

Rising Stars

The Rising Star Award celebrates employees who have shown exemplary work ethic and growth in the early stages of their careers. This year’s winners include:

• Frank Andriola, a Broadcast Production Engineer who has developed new workflows to improve efficiency.
• Giuliana Fogliano, who moved from Washington, D.C., to become the right-hand to President Jay Wallace.
• Meghan Tome, promoted from associate producer to White House producer, known for her dedication and willingness to help the team.
• Jordan Wells, a Human Resources Coordinator who was promoted to Generalist and is a go-to person for employees’ questions.

Community Champions

This award recognizes employees who dedicate time and energy to their local communities and company volunteer efforts. The winners include:

• Richard Hernandez, Senior Manager of Engineering, who organizes charity drives and runs a food pantry in Whittier, California.
• Robert McNally, Senior Producer of "Varney and Co.," who serves in the Coast Guard Auxiliary and participates in various ceremonies.
• Scott Sanders, Senior Producer of "The Story," who raises money for cancer patients by running marathons and buying wheelchairs for disabled children.

Valuing Contributions

The award goes to someone who helps create an environment where the contributions of others are strongly valued. This year’s recipients include:

• Nicolle Campa, Human Resources Senior Vice President, known for her caring and compassion.
• Jordan Overton, Senior Producer and Meteorologist at FOX Weather, who re-coded how the weather channel operates and was promoted to manager of Field Ops.

Impact Award Recipients

The Impact Award honors individuals or departments that have significantly and positively impacted FOX News Media over the past year. This year’s winners include:

• Jerusalem Bureau: Comprising senior field producer Yonat Friling, photographer David Gamliel, and chief foreign correspondent Trey Yingst, the bureau has provided critical coverage of the conflict in Israel and Gaza.
• Field and Production Operations: This department includes Lauren Barrese, Samantha Cosme, and others who support every platform with skill, creativity, and fun.

These awards reflect the dedication and hard work of FOX News Media employees, highlighting the importance of recognizing and celebrating excellence within the organization.
