Green Bay Packers Trade Deadline Live Updates and Rumors

The last two years have seen the Green Bay Packers make strategic moves at the NFL trade deadline. Both of these trades involved sending out veteran defensive players in exchange for future draft picks. As the 2025 season progresses, the question remains: will general manager Brian Gutekunst be looking to acquire more talent to strengthen an already impressive roster with the goal of a Super Bowl?

The Packers currently lead the NFC and are on a three-game winning streak heading into their home game against the Carolina Panthers on Sunday, November 2. Two days later marks the trade deadline. Fans are eagerly watching to see if the team will make any additional moves before this critical date.

One of the most significant trades of the year occurred before the season even began when the Packers acquired defensive end Micah Parsons from the Dallas Cowboys in late August. This move was a clear indication of the team's commitment to bolstering its defense.

As the trade deadline approaches, fans are hoping for additions that could further enhance the team's performance. A recent survey by PackersNews highlighted the need for improved cornerback help. Here’s everything you need to know about the upcoming NFL trade deadline:

When is the NFL Trade Deadline?

The 2025 NFL trade deadline is set for 3 p.m. (Central time) on Tuesday, November 4.

Lucas Havrisik Update: Packers Have Two Kickers on Roster

The Packers currently have two kickers on their 53-man roster, which is somewhat unconventional. They have Brandon McManus and Lucas Havrisik. McManus missed two games due to a quad injury but returned against the Pittsburgh Steelers on October 26. Havrisik, who was signed off the street, performed exceptionally well during those two games, going a perfect 10 for 10 on kicks, including a franchise-record 61-yard field goal. He remained on the roster after McManus' return but was inactive for the game against the Steelers. Teams can only suit up 48 of their 53 players on game days.

With the trade deadline approaching, it's unclear whether the Packers will keep both McManus and Havrisik on the roster. The team signed McManus to a three-year contract extension in the offseason, valuing his stability at the position. Despite missing two field goals last week, McManus remains the starting kicker. The question now is whether the Packers will trade Havrisik or keep him as insurance in case McManus isn't fully healthy.

"I’ll just let Gutey (general manager Brian Gutekunst) handle that," head coach Matt LaFleur said during a press conference on October 30 when asked about Havrisik's future with the team.

McManus, who has made 9 of 13 field goals and 14 of 15 extra points in five games in 2025, kicked during practice on October 29 and "looked good," according to LaFleur. However, it's still unclear if he's feeling any lingering effects from his injury.

"I didn’t ask him how he felt," LaFleur said. "I don’t talk to kickers, so I assume he felt OK."

Micah Parsons Named NFC Defensive Player of the Month

Micah Parsons has lived up to the immense expectations placed upon him since joining the Packers via a trade just before the start of the season. His performance has been nothing short of impressive, earning him the title of NFC Defensive Player of the Month for October. This is the second time in his career that he has received this honor.

In three games during October, all wins over the Cincinnati Bengals, Arizona Cardinals, and Pittsburgh Steelers, Parsons recorded four sacks, six quarterback hits, and five tackles for loss. He had his first three-sack game of his career against the Cardinals in Week 7, and also tied a career high with five tackles for loss. Following that game, he was named NFC Defensive Player of the Week.

Parsons sacked Aaron Rodgers once in the Packers' victory over the Steelers last week.

Packers Trade Rumors: Sebastian Joseph-Day, Tennessee Titans Defensive Tackle

As the trade deadline approaches, fans are wondering whether the Packers will add, subtract, or stand pat. According to ESPN reporter Jeremy Fowler, standing pat wouldn't surprise many, noting that the Packers rarely trade players at the deadline. He also pointed out that the team has already made their "splash move" with the Parsons trade, which required parting with first-round picks in 2026 and 2027.

For a team that values trade picks, the question remains: how can the Packers get more picks back? Through trades.

Cornerback is a position of need for many Packers fans based on recent performances. However, defensive tackle is another area where the team could use depth, according to NFL analyst Aaron Schatz. The Packers were without run stuffer Devonte Wyatt for two games this month due to a knee injury, and they lost their top interior defensive lineman when Kenny Clark was included in the Parsons trade. Wyatt returned for the game against the Pittsburgh Steelers on October 26, but defensive coordinator Jeff Hafley may still need more depth at the position.

Who might be available? ESPN highlights Tennessee Titans defensive tackle Sebastian Joseph-Day, who is in his eighth NFL season. Joseph-Day is playing on a one-year contract in Tennessee and could be a potential target for the Packers.

Lions Sign Aidan Hutchinson to Contract Extension

Trades aren't the only moves happening this week. The Detroit Lions locked up their best defensive player with a massive deal. The Lions signed homegrown defensive end Aidan Hutchinson to a four-year, $180 million contract extension that includes $141 million guaranteed, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter.

Hutchinson becomes the second-highest paid pass rusher in the NFL, behind only Packers defensive end Micah Parsons, who is making $46.5 million per season. Pewaukee High School graduate and former Wisconsin star TJ Watt is third with $41 million after signing his new deal this summer with the Pittsburgh Steelers.

After suffering a gruesome season-ending leg injury in Week 6 of the 2024 season, Hutchinson has made a strong return in 2025. He has six sacks and four forced fumbles in seven games for the Lions (5-2). The Packers will face Hutchinson and the Lions again in Week 13 of the NFL season on Thanksgiving, November 27, at Ford Field.

Jets and Eagles Make a Trade

The reigning Super Bowl champion Philadelphia Eagles, who are right behind the Packers in the NFC standings, added to their secondary on October 30. The Eagles acquired cornerback Michael Carter and a 2027 seventh-round pick from the New York Jets, who received wide receiver John Metchie and a 2027 sixth-round pick in return.

Carter, a 2021 fifth-round pick from Duke, has spent his entire career with the New York Jets. However, he was ready to leave the 1-7 Jets. He deleted the $5 million guaranteed for injury in his 2026 contract year, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.

Metchie, 22, had just four catches for 18 yards in 2025 in his first season with the Eagles, who acquired him in a trade during training camp with the Houston Texans. The former second-round pick from Alabama spent the first two years of his career in Houston.
