Key Moments from the Game

Giants lead evaporates

With under 4:00 remaining in the game, the Broncos capitalized on Jaxson Dart's interception with a two-yard touchdown, capping off a four-play, 19-yard drive. The Giants once led 19-0.

Costly mistake

Facing a third-and-5, Jaxson Dart made a dire rookie mistake, attempting to force a ball while under pressure. Intended for Theo Johnson, it was picked up and set the Broncos up to make it a one-score game. Compounding matters, offensive lineman Jermaine Eluemunor was injured on the play and went into the blue medical tent.

Broncos stay alive

With the game slipping away, the Broncos made another desperate rally, driving 74 yards on 13 plays, culminating in a seven-yard touchdown run by Bo Nix. However, the drive ate up 5:01 off the clock. The Broncos also converted their second two-point conversion of the game.

Injury: Brian Burns

Midway through the fourth quarter, following a third-down stop, linebacker Brian Burns was unable to line up and was escorted off the field by trainers. It appears to be an ankle injury. Burns returned two plays later.

More Dart magic!

Facing a third-and-17 early in the fourth quarter and the momentum beginning to shift, rookie quarterback Jaxson Dart stepped back and drilled a pass to wide receiver Wan'Dale Robinson that went off his hands. The ball bounced right into the waiting arms of tight end Theo Johnson, who took it 41 yards to the house.

Broncos on the board

With 14:08 remaining in the game, the Broncos finally punched it into the end zone. A player after Roy Robertson-Harris narrowly missed an interception, quarterback Bo Nix connected with wide receiver Troy Franklin (on a deflection) for a two-yard touchdown. The Broncos then converted on a two-point conversion attempt.

Injury update: Paulson Adebo

The Giants announced that cornerback Paulson Adebo is questionable to return after suffering a knee injury. It's unclear when the injury was sustained.

Belt to...

With rookie running back Cam Skattebo bruising the Broncos' defense, the Giants switched it up and went with Tyrone Tracy Jr. on a second-and-6. He burst through the line untouched and took it 31 yards for the score, breaking the game open. The Giants attempted the two-point conversion, but came up one yard short on a Wan'Dale Robinson catch.

Dart limping

While attempting to roll out on a second down, rookie quarterback Jaxson Dart planted his feet in an effort to get inside the chasing defender, but his ankle got caught in the grass and rolled. He immediately reached down and grabbed it, prompting a Giants timeout. However, Dart remains in the game -- for now. Russell Wilson was seen warming up.

Injury update: Jevon Holland

The Giants have ruled safety Jevon Holland (knee) out for the remainder of the game.

Burns closes out the first half

With the final seconds ticking off the clock, linebacker Brian Burns sent the Giants and Broncos to the locker room with his second sack of the game. He takes over the NFL lead with 9.0.

Belton with the boom

Giants safety Dane Belton delivered a massive hit, laying out Broncos wide receiver Courtland Sutton to close out a goal-line stand and give the offense the ball back.

Injury: Abdul Carter

Rookie edge rusher Abdul Carter, who was a late addition to the injury report with a hamstring issue, appeared to suffer a stinger on a second-down tackle. He jumped up and immediately chirped at a Broncos offensive lineman as he ran off the field. Although he attempted to return to the field, Carter was ushered into the blue medical tent.

Carter was listed as questionable to return.

Injury: Jevon Holland

Giants safety Jevon Holland was injured while making a second-down tackle on Broncos tight end Nate Adkins. He immediately hit the turf and was attended to by trainers. Holland was eventually ushered into the blue medical tent and was designated as questionable to return with a knee injury.

Magic Jax does it again

The Giants' defense held tight again and quickly got the ball back to the offense, which is where Magic Majxson Dart pulled another ace from his sleeve. He orchestrated a 10-play, 82-yard drive that featured another big catch by wide receiver Wan'Dale Robinson and some tough short-yardage gains. Fittingly, Dart cashed in on the drive by tossing a 13-yard screen to running back Cam Skattebo, who weaved and waved his way to the endzone before bullying a Broncos defender for the score.

Dart to Broncos: Take that

After absorbing a big (and what should have been illegal) hit, rookie quarterback Jaxson Dart quickly responded with a 44-yard touchdown pass to tight end Daniel Bellinger, who found wide-open space deep down the field. It capped a four-play, 77-yard drive.

Defensive battle to start

As expected, both defenses have been tight to start the game. Neither team has been able to move the ball effectively and have just one first down apiece. Both offenses are averaging 3.6 yards or fewer per play.

Injury update: Daniel Bellinger

Tight end Daniel Bellinger caught the first pass of the game but suffered a big hit along the sideline. He was clearly shaken up and quickly ushered into the blue medical tent (Brian Daboll did not enter it). In his place, rookie Thomas Fidone took the field for the first time. Bellinger was initially listed as questionable to return, but cleared concussion protocol and was back on the field.

Giants to start on offense

The Denver Broncos won the opening coin toss and opted to defer. The New York Giants will start the game on offense, while Denver will receive the second-half kickoff.
